One of my Macs wouldn't Restart, clicked on Restart and also waited it out with the counter timer and still it wouldn't restart to complete installation of update. I downloaded OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Combo Update, but can't find the sha1 What's the sha1 checksum for OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Combo Update? Doesn't Apple usually list it?

I have.dmg file of macOS Sierra 10.12.6 but when I am going install it gives me the following error: I found a lot of.dmg of version 10.12 but I didn't get anywhere then I got version 10.12.1.
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5) If you never downloaded the El Capitan installer, there is no way for you to get El Capitan for that Mac. It can run Sierra, so that is all that will be available. You can try the link that Carolyn provided, but it is for Mac's that cannot run Sierra or are running Snow Leopard.

Perhaps you have 10.5.8 instead of Snow Leopard.

After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.

Upgrading to El Capitan
You can upgrade to El Capitan from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
Upgrading to El Capitan
To upgrade to El Capitan you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
